Outcrop of the pre-635 Ma Brak River Formation micaschist (Namibia) showing clear overprinting relations. Neoproterozoic S1 is associated with first contraction in the Damara Belt around 590 Ma and shows a central asymmetric quartz lens indicating thrusting to the north. S1 is folded by S2, representing EW shortening in the Kaoko Belt and by S2a, related to collision in the Damara Belt and final closure of
